

SOCIAL FRIDGE AT SXSW

General Electric asked our team to create one of ISL's signature “Social Machines” to encourage SXSW attendees to check into their innovation space, GE Garages. Our team ended up taking a vintage 1939 GE refrigerator and hacked it to open itself after 10 people checked-in to the Garage on Foursquare, revealing free beer (marketing fact: people love free beer). We paired it with a custom visualization that displayed Foursquare check-ins as they came in and prompted new arrivals to take action.
